110 Freeway to Gain Toll Lanes
The carpool lanes on the Harbor Freeway will be converted into toll lanes during overnight closures.

Manhattan Beach commuters who travel the 110 Freeway to downtown Los Angeles daily will be able to pay tolls to use the carpool lanes next year.
Beginning Sunday, carpool lanes in both directions will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., seven days a week, until construction of their conversion to toll lanes is completed.Â
The scheduled completion date is September 2012, and once open, the toll lanes will cover 11 miles in each direction.
