9 More Manhattan Beach City Employees Test Positive For COVID-19

The 9 additional positive tests for the Novel Coronavirus have come in less than 1 month and impact several departments, including police.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Nine employees of the City of Manhattan Beach have tested positive for the coronavirus since Dec. 22, 2020. Overall, the city has had 29 employees test positive since data began to be recorded by Los Angeles County in March.

Three Manhattan Beach Police Department employees [could be civilian or sworn officers] are among the nine, as are three staffers in the Parks and Recreation Department. One employee at city hall, one in the "yard," and one who is off site are included in the nine disclosed by the city today to a Manhattan Beach Patch inquiry.

  • 2 – City Hall (Human Resources, Information Technology, Management Services, Community Development, Parks & Recreation Administration, Finance)
  • 1 - Fire Department
  • 6 - Parks & Recreation (Other P&R work locations)
  • 9 - Police
  • 6 - Yard (Public Works and Finance)
  • 5 - Offsite (Offsite at least 14 days prior to testing positive. Includes all departments.)
