Areas To Avoid During Manhattan Beach Grand Prix 2024
Several streets in Manhattan Beach will be shut down in preparation for and during the Chevron Grand Prix.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The 2024 Chevron Grand Prix of Manhattan Beach officially begins
Sunday and with that comes several street closures.
The 1.3-mile bicycle race was started in 1962 by local cyclist Ted Ernst, who was inducted into the Bicycling Hall of Fame in 2006. Over the past 60 years, the single-day race has developed a reputation for providing high-quality competition.
Closures will start early Sunday morning and will not be reopened until after 5 p.m., officials said. Street and parking lot closures during the day include:

Street Closures
- Ardmore Avenue will be closed between Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Pacific Avenue on from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Valley Drive will be closed between 15th Street and Pacific Avenue from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Parking Lot Closures
- Lot 8 closed at 4:00 AM
- Joslyn Community Center Lot closed at 4:00 AM
- Upper Civic Center Lot closed at 4:00 AM
