MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Feb. 1 to 7 there were:

  • 683 calls for service
  • 10 arrests
  • 10 traffic collisions
  • 22 crime reports taken

  • On Feb. 1 two suspects used a boulder and a baseball bat to shatter the front door of Bevmo at 1700 Rosecrans Avenue at about 2:14 a.m., police said. Police responded to the burglary alarm and contacted the business manager when they arrived. The suspects were unsuccessful at getting into the building and fled in a black four-door sedan.
  • On Feb. 6, the same Bevmo was targeted again at about 2:49 a.m., according to police. Again, the front door was shattered and MBPD discovered that the suspects used sledgehammers to break it. This time, however, the suspects did enter the building and stole multiple bottles of alcohol, according to police. They fled in the same black four-door sedan.
