District Employee on Leave After Bringing Ammunition to Manhattan Beach School

The employee did not have a gun and the school said the students were never in any danger.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- Security at Grand View Elementary School has been increased after a school district employee brought ammunition to the campus onFriday, according to KABC News.

The employee did not have a gun and did not plan on using the ammunition on campus, the station reported. The ammunition was found in a closet at the school. The employee has since been placed on paid administrative leave, according to the station.

The district told KABC is that children's safety is still a priority and there was no credible threat to the students or school.
