DUI Checkpoint Scheduled For Friday In Manhattan Beach
The Manhattan Beach Police Department will be holding a DUI checkpoint on July 12.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Manhattan Beach Police Department announced it will hold a DUI checkpoint on Friday, July 12.
According to a statement from MBPD, the locations are based on data trends that show where impaired driving-related crashes happen. The primary purpose of holding DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety and take impaired drivers off the road.
The checkpoint will be from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and John Street.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” MBPD Lieutenant Sabosky said in the statement. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”
Impaired driving doesn't just include alcohol, some prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, other illegal drugs and marijuana can also land someone a DUI.
