MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Travelers in Manhattan Beach can expect delays and a bit of traffic due to planned construction at the intersection of Marine Avenue and Cedar Avenue until June 9.

The construction is part of a city improvements project that aims to reduce traffic delays and boost efficiency at the intersection. City officials said travelers should expect lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in all directions, and a flagman at the intersection directing traffic.

"Currently, the delay at the intersection of Marine Avenue and Cedar Avenue causes the eastbound traffic to back up, which extends to Sepulveda Boulevard and causes blockage and delay along Sepulveda Boulevard. Also, the signal operation at the intersection is not optimized to address excessive delay to the exiting traffic from Manhattan Beach Village Shopping Center," city officials said.
