Firefighters Responding to Smoke from Malfunction Equipment at LAX

No one has been injured and no evacuations ordered.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters responded to Terminal 4 at the Los Angeles International Airport after smoke was reported inside the terminal.

The call came in at around 5 p.m. Thursday. The smoke was caused by an overheated equipment in or near an elevator control room, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No one has been injured and no evacuations ordered, said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
