Goldie Hawn Kicks Off South Bay Distinguished Speakers Series: Report

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The South Bay Distinguished Speakers Series announced its lineup for the 2023-24 season, which will start off with Goldie Hawn and feature political speaker Liz Cheney.

Kicking off its 25th season at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, this season's speakers include Goldie Hawn, Moogega Cooper, Liz Cheney, Lisa Genova, H. R. McMaster and Thomas Friedman. With six shows spanning from September to May, audiences will hear talks from influential and captivating speakers.

“Our mission is to offer audiences across the South Bay the chance to learn from six amazing people changing the world. We give neighbors from differing backgrounds and political persuasions the opportunity to come together,”Co-owner Kathy Winterhalder told the Manhattan Beach News.

The speaker series will travel to different cities including Redondo Beach, Thousand Oaks, Pasadena and Long Beach. The full schedule of dates and locations for the series' season is:

• Sept. 18 in Redondo Beach at 8 p.m.
• Sept. 19 in Thousand Oaks at 8 p.m.
• Sept. 20 in Pasadena at 8 p.m.
• Sept. 21 in Long Beach at 8 p.m.

Award-winning engineer of the Mars Rover "Perseverance" Mission Dr. Moogega Cooper

• Oct. 12 in Long Beach at 8 p.m.
• Oct. 16 in Pasadena at 8 p.m.
• Oct. 17 in Redondo Beach at 8 p.m.
• Oct. 25 in Thousand Oaks Beach at 8 p.m.

Former U.S. Representative for Wyoming Liz Cheney

• Jan. 29 in Redondo Beach at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the series is only sold in subscription packages that range from $240 to $660 to attend all six shows. Subscriptions can be purchased at the Distinguished Speakers Series website.
