Hazardous Beach Conditions Persist In Manhattan Beach
Dangerous ocean conditions along the coast of LA County prompted warnings from the National Weather Service though Sunday.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — National Weather service forecasters warned the Manhattan Beach community to avoid the beach due to dangerous rip currents and breaking waves up to 6 feet tall.
The weather service issued another beach hazards statement though Sunday afternoon as dangerous surf conditions persist off the coast of Los Angeles County. Surf of 4 to 6 feet is expected, especially at west-facing beaches.
"There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore," the weather service said in a statement.

Forecasters recommended the public stay out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions. Rock jetties can also be deadly in such conditions, so the public was advised to stay off the rocks.
