MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From Dec. 19 to 25 there were:
- 637 calls for service
- 9 arrests
- 17 traffic collisions
- 29 crime reports taken

- Police responded to a report of a suspicious subject looking into vehicles and walking onto properties looking for packages in the 2100 block of Ocean Drive at about 12:47 a.m. on Dec. 19. When officers arrived and found the suspect, the suspect ran from them on foot. MBPD quickly detained the suspect and transported them to the city jail.
- Police responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 4400 block of Highland Avenue at about 2:27 p.m. on Dec. 20. The home's resident told police that a person they knew was trying to gain entry to their residence without permission. Upon arrival, police identified a suspect and confirmed their identity with the resident. According to MBPD, the suspect had been previously arrested and contracted under similar circumstances at the same residence and seemed to be suffering from mental delusions. Police arrested the man and took him to have a mental health evaluation.
