MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From Aug 1 to 7 there were:
- 867 calls for service
- 14 arrests
- 22 traffic collisions

- On Aug. 6, police responded to a report of a battery in the 2700 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard. According to police, a man recognized another person who he claimed stole his backpack from the library months prior. The man punched the alleged backpack stealer and walked off before police arrived. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
- On Aug. 4, officers working the Junior 6-Man were told about a person stealing a backpack and quickly arrested them. An additional stolen backpack was found and further investigation revealed the suspect also drove a truck that was reported stolen onto the sand earlier in the day and abandoned it. After confirming the suspect's identity, they were also charged with stealing the vehicle.
- On Aug. 6, Police received a report about a person who was shot in the hand with a BB pellet gun. Officers later located a juvenile who was in possession of a pellet gun and arrested them in connection to the incident.
