Man Rummaging Through Car In Manhattan Beach Had Stolen Property, Drugs

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A man found rummaging through a car in Manhattan Beach had stolen property and drugs, police say.

An officer patrolling the residential area near Ruhland and Peck Avenues spotted a vehicle burglary in progress on Monday, Dec. 29, the Manhattan Beach Police Department said

“The suspect was found rummaging through a vehicle (not his) and in possession of stolen property from a nearby resident’s vehicle,” police said.

As the officer searched the man, he also found more than a pound of methamphetamine in his pockets and vehicle, as well as “a loaded handgun with a scratched off serial number in his vehicle,” according to police.
