Manhattan Beach Nears 300 Mark For # Of Positive COVID-19 Tests
Los Angeles County is reporting hospitalizations due to the coronavirus continue to go down; gives phone number to report non-compliance.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach residents are closing in on the 300 mark for the number of positive tests for the coronavirus. The data covers from early March on and shows the number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. As of this afternoon, Manhattan Beach had 295 cases, up from 287 two days ago, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
On a good note, the number of hospitalizations from the virus in Los Angeles County continue their downward trend. Today's Public Health report said, "Daily hospitalizations numbers continue to decline and today’s numbers haven't been seen since mid-June." Thirty-three percent of hospitalized patients in the county are in an Intensive Care Unit. Five people who died were between the ages of 30 and 49 years old and three of them had underlying health conditions, said the report.
The County says, "A backlog of cases from the state electronic lab report system (ELR) issue is still expected. Data sources that track other key indicators, including hospitalizations and deaths, are not affected by this reporting issue." Due to the ELR delays, Public Health "urges any person with a positive lab result to call (833) 540-0473 to connect with a public health specialist who can provide information about services and support. Residents who do not have COVID-19 should continue to call 211 for resources or more information."
