Due to rising cases of catalytic converters being stolen, police are hosting a catalytic converter etching event.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Due to rising cases of catalytic converters being stolen in Manhattan Beach, police are hosting a catalytic converter etching event this Saturday.
At the event on June 22, Manhattan Beach Police Department officers will engrave license plate numbers onto catalytic converters. Residents were instructed to go to Kinecta Federal Credit Union at 1440 Rosecrans Ave.
Etchings on catalytic converters make investigations easier for law enforcement when they are reported stolen. It also makes it harder for thieves to sell the stolen part, authorities said.
