Mattel Expands South Bay Footprint With $59M Building Purchase

EL SEGUNDO, CA — Barbie's manufacturing company Mattel has expanded its footprint in the South Bay by purchasing an office building for $59 million.

The 168,000-square-foot building is located at 2160 E. Grand Ave in El Segundo, just down the street from Mattel's Headquarters.

According to a recent earnings report, Mattel will move part of its North American and international businesses into the office.

The building was previously owned by lender New York Life Insurance after it acquired the property last year through a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure from SteelWave and Barings.
