Monday Essentials: Sharrows on Pacific Avenue, Manhappenings Registration Begins and More

"The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows." ~Sydney J. Harris

Here are five things for your Monday morning in Manhattan Beach:

  1. Registration begins at 6 a.m. Monday for fall Manhappenings offerings. Online registration information is here. The hard copy of the class and offerings guide has not reached residents yet, however, they can view the activity guide online or download a copy on the MANHAPPENINGS webpage.
  2. Pacific Avenue residents might want to attend the Monday night meeting on the potential installation of bike sharrows on the street. The town hall meeting is set for 6 to 8 p.m. in the community room in the police/fire facility 400/420 15th Street, at city hall. Previously: Residents Concerned About Bike Sharrows on Pacific Ave.
  3. City Council will hold a public session Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m. to discuss meeting management and open government Initiatives. The public is invited; 1400 Highland Avenue in City Council chambers. The meeting will be webcast live.
  4. There are two national days Monday, each of which have great appeal to me: National Middle Child Day and National Vinyl Record Day. Do you own any records? Do you ever play them? Tell us in the comments below.
  5. Make sure you're "Patched In" to get alerts on breaking news as it happens in town this week (and after), make sure you are signed up to get our emails. Click on the 'get the daily newsletter' at the top, right corner of this page. (If you see something that says, "hi, username," then you're already registered. In that case, click on "email settings" under the drop-down tab under your name.)
