Mustang Football Falls to Chaminade
The Mustangs are overwhelmed by Chaminade, losing the game 29-13.
Despite a close first half, the Mustangs were unable to stop the Chaminade College Prep Eagles Friday night at Mira Costa High School, losing the game 29-13.
After a slow offensive first half on both sides, the Mustangs trailed the Eagles 8-0 going into the half and were finally able to put some points on the board early in the third quarter as quarterback Chase Caprio found a hole and dove into the end zone. A failed two-point conversion attempt by Mira Costa left them trailing Chaminade 8-6.
Things started to look up for Mira Costa again in the third quarter when a punt to Chaminade resulted in a bobbled catch just yards from Chaminade's end zone. The loose ball was recovered by Mira Costa's Dominic Costa, giving the Mustangs ball placement in the Eagles' red zone.
