The loss puts the Mustangs' season record at 2-5.

Palos Verdes' running offense stole the show, according to an article in the Daily Breeze early Saturday, which noted "running back Carl Aguirre ran through big holes in the line, gaining 154 yards and scoring one touchdown on 18 carries."

During halftime, the Mira Costa High School homecoming king and queen were crowned: Eli Rivas was crowned king and Mackenzie Austin was crowned queen.
