No Charges Filed Against Manhattan Beach Teacher on Child Annoyance Allegations

The District Attorney's Office determined that there was not enough evidence to file charges against the teacher.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has declined to charges against a Manhattan Beach teacher on child annoyance charges citing insufficient evidence, police announced Monday.

On Oct. 13, the Manhattan Beach Police Department was told of a possible misconduct by a Manhattan Beach Middle School teacher toward a student and started its investigation, Sgt. Tim Zins said.

The school contacted the MBPD resource officer at the school and detectives started their investigation, he said. The results of the investigation were turned over to the District Attorney's Office and the D.A. has declined to press charges because of insufficient evidence, he said.

Because the incident involved a child, police have declined to release any more details on the case.

The Manhattan Beach Unified School District will be conducting its own administrative investigation into this matter, Zins said.
