Now Open: New Butcher Shop Serves Up 'Premium' Meats In Manhattan Beach

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A new "prestigious" butcher shop known for its high-quality meats and artisan cheese is now open for business in Manhattan Beach.

The Butchery announced in April that it would be opening up its first South Bay location, an "ideal location" that co-owner Brian Smith previously said matched the company's vision for space and community.

“Opening in Manhattan Beach marks a big milestone for us, and we knew we had found the right spot when we came across this location,” Smith said in a statement Tuesday. “We’ve always admired the South Bay’s strong sense of community and appreciation for quality. This new shop brings the best of what The Butchery stands for — premium meats, chef-driven prepared foods, and a true neighborhood feel — thoughtfully tailored for Manhattan Beach.”

A full-service butcher shop, The Butchery is inspired by Smith's upbringing around neighborhood markets on the East Coast.

"The Butchery began as a shared love of high-quality food, and has grown into something that’s deeply rooted in our commitment to craftsmanship and community," co-owner Robert Hagopian said in a statement Monday. "We take pride in offering hand-selected meats and thoughtfully curated provisions, and our goal is for this location to become a go-to neighborhood destination—whether you're planning a weekend BBQ or just stopping in for a sandwich after work."

The Butchery's meat selections are hand-cut to order and prepared to the specifications of the customers. The shop also offers artisan cheeses, craft beers, wine and a full-service kitchen where customers can enjoy made-to-order meals such as a spicy chicken sandwich.

This is the company's fourth location, already establishing itself as a premier location for premium cuts of meat in cities such as Costa Mesa and Crystal Cove.

The Manhattan Beach storefront is located at 1121 Artesia Blvd. and will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
