Ocean Water Use Warning Issued Near Manhattan Beach Pier

Bacteria levels are exceeding state standards at several Los Angeles beaches, public health officials announced Wednesday night.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — An ocean water use warning was issued Wednesday night for waters near Manhattan Beach Pier after testing results showed bacteria levels were exceeding state standards.

Swimmers and surfers were warned before swimming at the following beaches:

  • Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey
  • Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
  • Manhattan Beach Pier in Manhattan Beach
  • Redondo Beach Pier in Redondo Beach
  • Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health continues to caution residents visiting these Los Angeles County beaches to be careful of swimming, surfing, and playing in ocean waters.

"Ocean water bacteria level exceeds state standards and may cause illness," according to public health officials.
