MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From July 18 to 24 there were:
- 782 calls for service
- 20 arrests
- 14 traffic collisions
- 44 crime reports taken

- On July 18, police stopped a vehicle with expired plates and collision damage. After conducting a records check, MBPD also found that the car's registration was suspended. During the investigation, police said they found multiple stolen debit cards and a BB gun painted to look like a real gun. Police arrested one of the occupants on suspicion of identity theft, possession of an altered BB gun and warrants.
- On July 23, police responded to a theft at Target. According to Loss Prevention, three suspects put a large amount of cosmetics items inside a shopping cart and then concealed them in bags as they walked through the store. Loss Prevention attempted to stop the group as they left the store, but they ran into an awaiting vehicle. MBPD arrived on the scene before the suspects left and all three people were arrested on suspicion of organized retail theft.
