Pedestrian Injured After Being Hit by Car in Manhattan Beach
The female pedestrian was crossing against a red light and was not in a crosswalk, police said.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA - A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Manhattan Beach, authorities said Tuesday.
The injury occurred about 11 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Aviation Boulevard, the Manhattan Beach Police Department reported.
"The initial investigation revealed that the male driver of a 2014 Fiat model 500 was traveling southbound on Aviation Boulevard and collided with a female pedestrian who was crossing the street against a red light and was not within a crosswalk," a police statement said.

The driver, 26-year-old Samuel Martell of Manhattan Beach, was not under the influence of alcohol, and he was questioned and released, police said. The injured person, whose age was not immediately revealed, was taken to a hospital.
