MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Following the rain experienced throughout Los Angeles County early Wednesday morning, health officials have issued a bacteria advisory at all beaches — including in Manhattan Beach.

After any significant rainfall, increased runoff from storm drain outlets and rivers may cause unhealthy conditions in the ocean water at beaches in Manhattan Beach.

"Ocean and bay recreational waters, especially near discharging storm drains, creeks and rivers can be contaminated with bacteria, chemicals, debris, trash, and other public health hazards from city streets and mountain areas after a rain fall," county officials said.
