Preliminary Results In For City Council, Measures In Manhattan Beach
Preliminary results are in for several races in Manhattan Beach.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA— Election day has come and gone in Manhattan Beach and residents cast their votes for City Council and California State Assembly candidates as well as local measures.
Three Manhattan Beach City Council seats were up for grabs with six candidates vying for a spot.
As of 10 a.m. on Wednesday, candidates Joe Franklin and Nina Tarnay were ahead of other candidates with 8,808 votes and 7,364 votes respectively. Karen Komatinsky and Steve Charelian trailed behind, with Charelian securing 5,910 votes and Komatinsky securing 5,351 votes.

Candidate Joe Marcy secured 3,337 votes so far and 3,126 votes were counted for candidate Brenda O'Leary.

- Measure RLS - A $200 million bond that will fund necessary upgrades to facilities at local schools without increasing tax rates.
- As of 10 a.m., voters favored passing Measure RLS, with 65 percent of the vote in favor and 35 percent of the vote against, according to preliminary results.
- Measure BC - A $30 million Beach Cities Health Care District Bond Measure to cover construction improvements on BCHD facilities.
- As of 10 a.m., voters were against passing Measure BC, with 53 percent of the vote in against and 47 percent of the vote in favor, according to preliminary results.
- Measure MMB - If approved, would increase the local sales tax rate by one-half cent to provide necessary local funding for city services.
- As of 10 a.m., voters favored passing Measure MMB, with 56 percent of the vote in favor and 44 percent of the vote against, according to preliminary results.
According to the Los Angeles County Registrar, only 2,615,541 of the county's 5,736,803 registered voters' ballots had been counted as of Wednesday morning.
