Search Ended For Reported Missing Swimmer Off Hermosa Beach

The search for a swimmer reported missing off Hermosa Beach ended Sunday, authorities said.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The search for a swimmer reported missing off Hermosa Beach ended Sunday, authorities said.

"No person found, nor a missing person report matching the description of the reported missing swimmer," the Los Angeles County Fire Department's Lifeguard Division tweeted.

County lifeguards notified dispatchers of the search just after midnight near First Street, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz.

At about 2 a.m., the lifeguards notified dispatch that they would stop until daylight, Diaz said.

The Manhattan Beach police and fire departments were also involved in the search along with Redondo Beach Harbor Patrol, officials said.

A description of the reported missing swimmer was not available, Diaz said.
