SNL Offers Its Take On Ye's Ill-Fated Trip To Skechers Headquarters
The late-night comedy show poked fun at the artist and shoe company after he showed up to the Manhattan Beach HQ unannounced last week.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Late night comedy show Saturday Night Live took a jab at Ye's visit to the Manhattan Beach Skechers Headquarters last week, where he was escorted out after showing up uninvited.
The video was posted to SNL's YouTube on Sunday and was a parody of an ad for Skechers that responded to the artist's unannounced visit.
"Like the rest of the country, we were appalled by Kanye's horrific comments, and we vowed to never work with him in any capacity. But can we also point out that of all the companies he could have approached and been rejected by, he chose Skechers," actress and comedian Cecily Strong said in the skit.

The SNL cast members played employees at Sketchers who boasted about getting to reject Ye and standing against antisemitism.
The skit also poked fun at Skechers saying the statement the company made should make more people realize, "how cool this makes us look."

Skechers released the statement on Wednesday after the visit, denouncing Ye's recent antisemitic actions and saying they have no plans to work with the artist in the future.
The rapper recently made antisemitic comments on Twitter, which led to his account being suspended, his talent agency dropping him and Adidas ending its deal with West and the Yeezy brand.
"We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech," company representatives said.
