South Bay Woman Celebrates 26th Birthday By Feeding Homeless

Ashley Daniels raised $3,100 for the effort on gofundme.com, and her father Harvey said he matched that amount.

EL SEGUNDO, CA - An El Segundo father and daughter provided free meals and other supplies to the homeless Saturday on Skid Row.

Ashley Daniels was marking her 26th birthday by serving meals and distributing toiletries and hygiene products to the homeless Saturday afternoon at 660 San Pedro St., between Sixth and Seventh streets in downtown Los Angeles.

Ashley raised $3,100 for the effort on gofundme.com, and her father Harvey said he matched that amount.

As of 11:30 a.m., Harvey Daniels told City News Service that about 250 people had already received help, and he and his daughter expect to help up to 800 homeless people by 5 p.m.
