MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Jan. 11 to 17 there were:

  • 773 calls for service
  • 17 arrests
  • 20 traffic collisions
  • 41 crime reports taken

  • On Jan. 11 A subject was arrested on suspicion of burglary after Manhattan Beach police received a report of them attempting to get into parked cars in the 1400 block of 3rd Street. When officers responded to the area, they found the subject with numerous burglary tools officials said.
  • On Jan. 12 police were notified about a stolen vehicle driving into the city limits. When officers located the car they pulled it over for a traffic stop in the area of Rosecrans Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard. The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • On Jan. 16, MBPD said they witnessed a person driving a motorcycle recklessly. Officers stopped the driver and discovered the motorcycle was stolen, police said. The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, reckless driving and possession of burglary tools.
