MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 there were:

  • 642 calls for service
  • 5 arrests
  • 8 traffic collisions
  • 36 crime reports taken

  • On Dec. 29 a group of people were loading bags into their car in the area of 18th Place and Highland Avenue when a suspect approached them. According to MBPD, the suspect stole items from the group and fled. The victims used GPS trackers in the stolen bags to recover some of their stolen items and detained the suspect until police arrived. MBPD arrested the suspect and booked them into the Manhattan Beach City Jail.
