MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Bay Foundation is offering Manhattan Beach residents the chance to aid in restoration efforts of the dunes along the city's shoreline.
The goals of the Manhattan Beach Dune Restoration project are to increase the resiliency of the shoreline and implement nature-based protection against storms and sea level rise. Project leaders have increased engagement in the community through outreach and education.
Throughout approximately three acres of the existing dunes from 36th to 28th Street and 26th to 23rd Street, volunteers have helped install symbolic post and rope and native plants.
