Here are five things for your Tuesday morning in Manhattan Beach:
- Join the crowd at city hall tonight when Manhattan Beach resident and former Beach Reporter Editor Paul Silva is feted for his countless contributions to the city and the South Bay. Silva, who recently left his top spot at the weekly newspaper for another position, will receive a commendation sometime shortly after City Council begins its 6 p.m. meeting in council chambers at 1400 Highland Avenue.
- Four properties are set to receive designations as "culturally significant landmarks" in the city. One of the properties is Beckers Bakery at 1025 Manhattan Avenue.
- It looks as though the intersection of Sixth and Larsson streets will get a stop sign if City Council votes to adopt the resolution Tuesday night. The Parking and Public Improvements Commission has approved the new stop signs and forwarded the item to council.
- The first semi-annual Manhattan Beach Police Department strategic plan update from Police Chief Eve R. Irvine is now online.
