The city's Parks and Recreation Commission will discuss a proposed Petanque court at its Monday night meeting.

Here are five things for your Monday and beyond in Manhattan Beach:
- A proposal to install a Petanque court will be discussed Monday during the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. A skateboard park discussion is also on the agenda. The meeting will be held at city hall, 1400 Highland Ave., from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
- Students in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District are off from school for Thanksgiving recess until Monday, Dec. 2.
- Santa arrives at Manhattan Village on Friday when the Holiday Parade begins at 9 a.m. in the parking lot near Olive Garden. The Mira Costa Marching Band will be in the parade along with Santa's friends. Santa's House will be on site at Manhattan Village and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance. There will be holiday arts and crafts, face painting and balloon twisting. Children who are registered in advance will receive a free goodie bag while supplies last.
