Woman Hits Firefighter, Rams Police Car In South Bay: Report
A woman was seen on video hitting a Los Angeles County firefighter inside his department vehicle in the South Bay.
GARDENA, CA — A woman in scrubs who was seen shouting at a Los Angeles County Firefighter inside his vehicle was arrested Wednesday in Gardena, according to reports.
LA County Fire officials told KTLA they originally responded to the scene at about 12 p.m. after receiving reports of a traffic collision.
Footage from KTLA shows the woman yelling and screaming at the firefighter who was behind the wheel of a fire department vehicle. Things escalated when the woman slapped the firefighter and, at one point, balled up her fist and pulled back like she was going to punch the man in the face.

A witness told KTLA that the woman was cursing at the firefighters and accused them of following her.
The woman, identified as 36-year-old Jessica Chavez from Inglewood, then got into her own car and began driving around until the Gardena Police Department showed up to assist the firefighter.

According to officers, Chavez then deliberately crashed her car into an undercover officer's vehicle and the firefighter's vehicle. The impact tore a car door off the undercover officer's vehicle, but no serious injuries were reported.
Chavez was arrested on suspicionof assaulting a firefighter, assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence, police said.
