Earth Day Volunteer Opportunities at Local State Parks

The California State Parks Foundation will be coordinating volunteer groups on Earth Day, April 14, at parks throughout Los Angeles County and the State of California. 

Dockweiler State Beach

  • Re-paint 21 lifeguard towers
  • Beach clean-up

Volunteers Needed: 91

What to Bring: Signed waiver, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, hat, garden gloves, sunglasses.

Volunteers must pre-register to receive the complimentary parking pass for Dockweiler State Beach. Pre-registered volunteers will be e-mailed the parking pass before April 14.

 

Rio de Los Angeles State Park

  • Invasive plant species removal
  • Watering of existing trees
  • Mulching trees and planting beds
  • Spreading native seeds

 

Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Check-in starts at 08:30)

Volunteers Needed: 85

What to Bring: Signed volunteer waiver, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, garden gloves, sunglasses, sturdy shoes.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS:

Every Earth Day participant must bring a signed waiver when checking in to the work site. Some sites may require more than one waiver!
