Ann Taylor Loft Opens at Waterside Shopping Center

Ann Taylor Loft, a specialty retailer for women's clothes, shoes and accessories, has opened a new store at the Waterside shopping center in Marina del Rey.

The new store opened last Friday and is adjacent to women's retailer BCBG.

“The Waterside is known for its exceptional selection of retail and Ann Taylor Loft fits into the location perfectly,” said Jennifer Gordon, senior vice president of public relations and special events for Caruso Affiliated, in a statement. “The brand is widely recognized as offering truly wearable, well-made clothing for today’s modern woman.  We know customers will be thrilled they can now pick up their favorite Ann Taylor Loft pieces at the Waterside.”

New York-based ANN Inc. operates the Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft brands and dates back to 1954, when founder Richard Liebeskin opened his first store called Ann Taylor. The name was derived from a best-selling dress style that had been given to the storeowner by his father.

The company currently operates about 900 stores in more than 45 states.

ANN Inc. is scheduled to report its quarterly earnings Friday. The company's stock, which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange, closed Tuesday at $30.81 per share.
