Sunny Skies, Getting on a Boat and Blog for Us

Boating columnist Paul M.J. Suchecki offers helpful tips for anyone who wants to join a crew.

Today is June 6. It is the 157th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 8:04 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 64 degrees and then after 11 p.m. patchy fog and an overnight low around 55 degrees. Forecasters expect patchy fog Tuesday morning with sunshine in the afternoon and a high near 62 degrees.

2. City Councilman Bill Rosendahl joined Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and transportation and public safety officials at a news conference this morning to review plans for managing the Interstate 405 closure in mid-July. Check back here for details.
