2 Arrested In Hit-And-Run That Killed 17-Year-Old Girl: Pittsburg PD
The investigation involved "reviewing countless hours of video surveillance."
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Two arrests were made Thursday in connection with a Pittsburg hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl, police said.
Roberto Sainez, 34, and his fiancée, Vanessa Landerso, 30, were arrested Thursday in the 3000 block of Gladstone Drive in Pittsburg as investigators served a search warrant, the Pittsburg Police Department said.
It is alleged that two days earlier, Sainez was involved in a hit-and-run crash at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday on Stoneman Avenue and Briarcliff Drive. Officers found a 17-year-old pedestrian lying on the roadway, suffering injuries consistent with being struck by a car. She was rushed to a hospital where she died.
