5-Acre Brush Fire Doused Along Highway 4 In Martinez: Con Fire

No structures were threatened by the blaze that burned in a hilly area along westbound state Highway 4, Con Fire said.

MARTINEZ, CA — A vegetation fire burned 5 acres Thursday morning along state Highway 4 in Martinez.

The McEwen Fire was reported around 9:45 a.m. Thursday on the westbound shoulder of Highway 4.

The brush fire burned in a hilly area between Alhambra Avenue and McEwen Road, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.

No structures were threatened, Con Fire said.

By 11:19 a.m., crews were mopping up the blaze, the agency said.
