Accused Murderer Accidentally Released From Bay Area Jail

MARTINEZ, CA — A man arrested on suspicion of homicide is on the run after authorities released him last week from the Martinez Detention Facility.

Isaiah Jamon Andrews, 20, of Kent, Washington, was released from the jail on Oct. 22.

At the time, he was being held on local charges, as well as a juvenile warrant out of Sacramento, and an out-of-state arrest warrant for homicide, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office.

He was arrested on suspicion of killing a 20-year-old in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood in October, according to a report.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office is investigating why Andrews was released.

Staff launched a search after they realized he had been released.

The U.S. Marshals Service are assisting with the search for Andrews. Local law enforcement agencies have also been notified.
