Capsized Boater Rescued From Delta
VIDEO: A man whose boat capsized was found floating in a life preserver in the waters of Suisun Bay near Pittsburg.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Police and firefighters rescued a man from the Suisun Bay near Pittsburg after a boat capsized in the Delta Monday afternoon. Around 1 p.m., emergency crews responded to the waters just outside the McAvoy Yacht Harbor, listed at 1001 McAvoy Road in Bay Point, to find a man floating in a life preserver.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter arrived on scene first, and was able to hoist the victim out of the water despite windy conditions.
The patient was transported back to shore, where he was treated by Contra Costa County Fire Protection District personnel.
