Central San Wins National Award
District receives honors for successfully treating 180 billion gallons of waste water.
The has received recognition from a national agency for successfully treating 180 billion gallons of wastewater, it was announced today.
According to a release from Centran San, the district has been awarded the Platinum 13 Peak Performance Award from the National Assocation of Clean Water Agencies. The award was given for Central San's ability to discharge wastewater into Suisun Bay for 13 years and still meet all local, state and federal clean water standards.
According to the release, Central San is one of eight districts around the nation to receive the award.

“This award shows we are continuing to meet increasingly strict water quality standards year after year,” said District General Manager Jim Kelly. “Our mission is to protect public health and the environment, and our staff works diligently to meet that challenge every day.”
