According to police, Corbin told officers he was not aware Kaur was going to strike the student. He said he was just trying to help control the boy, police said.
Police said Kaur admitted to officers that she lost her temper.
Both Corbin and Kaur were suspended and then fired from their posts, according to Tobinworld officials. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
The California Department of Education is also investigating the school to see if it still meets the stateβs certification requirements, department spokesman Peter Tira said Friday.
