'Christmas House' Catches Fire Again

The house at 910 Walnut Street renowned for its annual display of festive lights was the scene of a one-alarm fire early Tuesday morning. Fire crews quickly doused the flames and there were no injuries reported.

The Brock family experienced yet another fire at their burned-out home on Walnut Street Tuesday morning. This time, however, fire crews quickly had the flames under control. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Just seven months ago in January, the 'Christmas House' at 910 Walnut Street, known for annually lighting up Martinez with festive cheer, .Β A demolition permit was issued by City Hall late last month.Β 

Fire crews responded toΒ Tuesday's fire at around 4 a.m. and had it under control by 4:38 a.m., according to theΒ Contra Costa County FireΒ Protection District.Β

PG&E had to shut off a gas line at the site, fire officials said.Β PG&E spokeswoman Janna Morris said there was an exposed naturalΒ gas line at the house and PG&E crews managed to shut off the flow ofΒ gas.
