Con Fire Announces Major Repair Project At Station Built In 1951
The crew from Station 14 will temporarily operate out of Station 12 during the project, which is expected to take 90 days.

MARTINEZ, CA — The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is preparing to start a major repair project at a Martinez fire station constructed in 1951.
Since the 1950s, the size and weight of fire apparatuses — engines, trucks, etc.— have grown. Some minor repairs have been undertaken but did not permanently solve the problem. To provide a safe and efficient fire station, Con Fire will replace failing concrete in the apparatus bay and front drive ramp of Station 14, located at 521 Jones St. in Martinez.
"This major repair represents a substantial investment in our facility and will ensure its reliability and safety for years," Con Fire spokesperson Lauren Ono said.

Starting Wednesday, April 3, the crew and apparatus from Station 14 will temporarily operate out of Station 12, 1240 Shell Ave., in Martinez, while the work is done at the crew's home station on Jones Street.
