Contra Costa County Elections Division Launches Voting Info App
The Contra Costa County Elections Division has launched an app through which registered voters can request their election ballot by mail.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- The Contra Costa County Elections Division recently launched a texting app through which registered voters can ask to receive their election ballot by mail.
The user can text "COCOBALLOT" to 28683, which is "2Vote." The texter then receives a reply with a link to a form, and fills out their name, date of birth and mailing address.
This app is designed to encourage voters who typically have used a Contra Costa County polling place to consider getting their ballot sent through the mail to their home ahead of the 2020 election.

The hope is the app will encourage more voters to get ballots through the mail, thereby resulting in more voting, as voters won't have to work a trip to the polling place into their schedules, Paul Burgarino of the Contra Costa County Elections Division explained.
Voters can return their ballot postage free by mail, drop it at any City Hall in the county, or bring the filled-out ballot to the polling place on Election Day.
