Contra Costa Health to Host Suicide Prevention Forum
PEI will partner with Find Your Anchor to build care packages during the event which will contain mental health resources for those in need.
MARTINEZ, CA — Contra Costa's Prevention and Early Intervention program is partnering with Find Your Anchor to build care packages containing mental health resources in recognition of Suicide Prevention Week, it was announced last week.
This Community Forum, which will be held at Vicente Martinez High School, 925 Susana Street in Martinez, is part of the PEI Community Program Planning Process, a news release announcing the event said.
Participants at the event scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. will learn about the program with a particular focus on suicide prevention, engage in self-care, hear from guest speakers and receive resources.

The event is open to anyone interested in volunteering but registration is required, the news release said. Those in attendance will help create personalized boxes filled with tools and reminders that provide support to people during challenging times.
"Contra Costa Health recognizes the importance of suicide prevention and aims to foster awareness, inspire positive action, and bring together individuals who are passionate about mental health," the news release said.

Contra Costa County's PEI program is funded through the state Mental Health Services Act.
