Coroner Identifies Driver Killed In UTV Crash Near Martinez

Nearly $11,000 has been donated toward funeral expenses for the Bay Point man.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A Bay Point man was identified as the driver of a utility task vehicle — UTV— who died in a crash Sunday in Glen Frazer, an unincorporated community near Martinez.

Jonathan Ojeda, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at Wolcott Lane and Franklin Canyon Road, the Contra Costa County coroner's office confirmed Wednesday.

The California Highway Patrol responded shortly after 11 a.m. to the fatality involving a Can-Am UTV. The CHP's preliminary investigation indicated Ojeda was not properly restrained by a seatbelt.
