Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed By Car
The Contra Costa County coroner has identified a woman who was killed by an oncoming car as she was walking toward the scene of a car crash.

EAST BAY, CA -- The Contra Costa County coroner has identified a woman who was killed by an oncoming car as she was walking toward the scene of a car crash that a family member had just been involved in.
The woman has been identified as 78-year-old Teresita Cerbas of Bay Point, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
Cerbas was walking toward the scene of a two-vehicle collision near Loftus Road shortly after 7 p.m. when she was hit by a third car, according to police.

She was approaching the scene of the initial collision because a member of her family was apparently involved and had called relatives after the crash, police said.
Cerbas was struck by an oncoming vehicle heading west on Willow Pass Road and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver cooperated with the investigation, and impairment does not appear to be a factor, according to police.
Officers closed the roadway for several hours during the investigation into the collision.
